“End of Suburbia” Screening

My wife and I happened upon a neat downtown area not too far from our house that we hadn’t yet discovered after 2 years of living here. After eating a late lunch at a Jamaican pasta restaurant (where I nearly managed to get through the meal without dropping coconut curry on my shirt), my wife saw a sign for a fair trade store and we decided to stop in.

Boy, am I glad she spotted it! As we talked with the owner of the store (Mindy StoneSerendipity Fair Trade, Melbourne, FL) it turned out that not only was she aware of Peak Oil, but she’s hosting a screening of “End of Suburbia” this coming Wednesday!

For anyone who would like to attend, it will be at Van Gogh’s Creative Café, 846 W. Eau Gallie Blvd, Melbourne, FL this Wednesday, April 18 at 7 pm. I plan on attending and perhaps saying a few words, so it would be a great opportunity for meeting up if you happen to live nearby. Hope to see you there!

Glad you liked Serendipity Fair Trade....

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, Scott. Yes, I definitely like Serendipity. I'm not sure I'll be able to hit the event in Orlando, but I'll try. Sounds like a lot of fun...

How was it?

I wanted to see that movie, but never actually got around to it. I hope you review it for us!

It went well

I've seen the movie once before, and it's pretty good. I think I will post a review of it here since I have some opinions about the film.

My talking afterwards went alright -- it was my first time talking to a group about Peak Oil. I learned a bit about how I should tailor my message and people's most pertinent questions. All in all it was a good experience and hopefully a few more people are heading down the path of preparing for Peak Oil.

Please Elaborate

Please elaborate on what you learned regarding speaking on the Peak Oil topic too, when you review the movie for us. You've got me curious now.

Stay tuned

I will write on both topics this week, probably in the same post...
