Spamnation!

The spam is starting to get out of control, so I changed comment rules to require registration before posting. This probably doesn't affect most of you that read the site, but anyone who wants to post anonymously will have to register. We only need a username and e-mail, then click on the link in the e-mail we send you and you're good to go.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but we're spending way too much time moderating spam comments. Don't those guys just ruin all the fun?

I haven't been keeping up so

I haven't been keeping up so I've missed the spam. True spam is one thing, but in many forums people have created a new classification of spam known as "trolling". What constitutes trolling is subjectively determined by each individual at the forum according to their perception of stupidity, but is deemed by all to be worthy of bitter insults and cries to the moderator, so a bunch of people never stop complaining about their time being wasted by a stupid comment, which is pretty ironic. The troll-killing is by far more annoying than the trolling, even more annoying than real spam, if you ask me.

spam blocking

I had the site set up to automatically block most spam, but some still slipped through everyday that I had to moderate. The only spam visitors would see is from the advanced bots that can create user accounts. But, my workload will now hopefully go down quite a bit...
