Per my post of living without soap, I just completed Week 2 using the baking soda and vinegar shampoo technique. So far my hair appears normal, doesn't smell bad (verified by my wife! :), and has suffered no ill effects. I encourage everyone to give this experiment a try to see if you can save some money on all the expensive shampoos they try to shove down our throats (sometimes the stuff they try to get us to eat is almost chemically identical to shampoo...).
For a fun variation of the technique outlined in the post, try applying the vinegar before rinsing out the baking soda -- it gives you that "tingling" feeling they're always talking about in the shampoo commercials :)

My shampoo will be gone in a couple days, then I will do it, but I'm not really a good subject for the experiment. I'm not finnicky about my hair, so I'm up for any cheaper alternative to chemistry lab shampoo, even if all my hair fell out(as long as my brain remained snug). I wouldn't mind sporting the buddha do if I didn't need a barber.
Shampoo?!?
Hi Guys!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the topic! I stopped using shampoo about two years ago. Well...I'll use shampoo once every six months or so.
I just take a shower and maybe spend a little extra time scrubbing my scalp and hair. That's about it. My hair looks great as far as I'm concerned! And it smells just fine. I don't use soap either. It sure makes it easier. All I need is a razor for shaving and I'm all set!
